New album set For Release March 26th on Columbia Records
Depeche Mode to Debut Video for First Single ‘Heaven’ on VEVO Next Friday, February 1st
Depeche Mode have announced they will release their highly anticipated 13th studio album, entitled Delta Machine, on March 26th worldwide via Columbia Records. The album, recorded over the last year in Santa Barbara, California and New York City, was produced by Ben Hillier and mixed by Flood. In addition to the album announcement, Depeche Mode have also confirmed that the video for the first single “Heaven” will debut on VEVO next Friday, February 1st. Alongside a standard CD format, Depeche Mode will release Delta Machine in an exclusive Deluxe Edition with four additional new tracks and accompanied by a 28 page hardcover book including photos by longtime artistic collaborator Anton Corbijn (please see track listing, as well as album and single configurations below).
Martin Gore said of the release, “Writing this album was incredibly daunting as I wanted the sound of this collection to be very modern. I want people to feel good about listening to this record, to get some kind of peace. It’s just got something magical about it.”
Dave Gahan added, “With this release we’ve completely shifted our idea of how to create an album. When we hit a wall where we realize the album is beginning to sound too normal, we’ll mess it up and really give it that organic Depeche Mode Sound. Delta Machine is no different, and I can’t wait for all of our fans to hear it.”
Following the release of their new album, Depeche Mode will embark on a European stadium tour, kicking off in Tel Aviv’s Hayarkon Park on May 7th. They will perform 34 shows in 25 European countries, featuring appearances at Milan’s famed San Siro Stadium, the Stade De France in Paris, and Moscow’s Locomotive Stadium before wrapping up the European leg of their tour in Minsk, Belarus on July 29. A full North American tour will follow, with details to be announced in the coming weeks.

On 6 June 2011, Depeche Mode will release Remixes 2: 81-11 on Mute. An inspiring collection of new and classic mixes of material covering their entire career, the album includes remixes of tracks from their 1981 debut Speak And Spell, through to 2009’s Sounds Of The Universe, and is the follow-up to 2004’s million-plus selling Remixes 81-04. These remixes reinforce Depeche Mode’s standing as one of the world’s most influential and innovative acts.
Depeche Mode have been at the forefront of remix culture for the best part of three decades and this new compilation includes classic mixes from M83, UNKLE, Trentemøller, François Kervorkian and Dan The Automator, alongside all-new mixes from Stargate, Eric Prydz, Karlsson & Winnberg (from Miike Snow) and Röyksopp. In addition to this, the expanded editions include exclusive remixes by former band members Vince Clarke and Alan Wilder - the first time either artist has remixed tracks for their former colleagues.
Remixes 2: 81-11 will be available in two different CD formats; Single and Triple Disc versions, as well as Downloads and as a 6 x 12” vinyl LP box set.
Highlights from the selection of classic mixes include reworkings of ”Dream On” from 2001’s Exciter, ”Suffer Well,” ”John the Revelator” and ”A Pain That I’m Used To” from 2005’s Playing The Angel and ”In Chains,” ”Peace” and ”Wrong” from 2009’s Sounds Of The Universe, while the new mixes include ”Tora! Tora! Tora!” and ”Puppets” from 1981’s Speak And Spell, ”Never Let Me Down Again” and ”Behind The Wheel” from Music For The Masses as well as ”A Question Of Time” from 1986’s Black Celebration. Depeche Mode are to release a single package from their forthcoming album ”Remixes 2: 81-11” featuring all-new remixes of their iconic track ’Personal Jesus’ on May 30th on Mute.
Originally featured on the classic 1990 album ’Violator’, ’Personal Jesus’ has been reworked by some of the dance world’s most innovative acts, including Stargate, Eric Prydz and Alex Metric.
Already covered by Johnny Cash, Marilyn Manson, Tori Amos and Nina Hagen, ’Personal Jesus’ is one of music’s most renowned tracks.
