• Depeche Mode have sold about 100 million records worldwide.
• Their biggest selling album is "Violator" from 1990 which to this date (March 2010) has sold about 13.500.000 copies.
• The most successful single is "Enjoy The Silence" from the "Violator"-album.
• In 1981, at a jam session for local talent, Vince Clarke was impressed with Gahan's vocal rendition of David Bowie's "Heroes" and invited him to join his band, "Composition of Sound".
  Gahan later came up with the new name "Depeche Mode" for the band. It was taken from a French fashion-magazine.
• 1996-05-28 the singer Dave Gahan overdosed the drug Speedball (heroin and cocaine) and was dead for 2 minutes before he was revived with the "Pulp-Fiction" treatment.
• The song "Sister Of Night" was recorded and sung by Dave Gahan when he was under influence of drugs and it was also the last song he ever performed while still taking drugs.
• Depeche Mode have had 35 singles out of 52 in the UK TOP20Hitlist. Two of them not eligible for the UK Chart.
• "Songs Of Faith And Devotion" is Depeche Mode's so called "rock"-album.
  The album is well known for Alan playing drums for the first time.
